What Zweck can do today, dated as it lands. If it is on this page, it works on a real phone. If it is still coming, it says so.

  1. Plans from the Coach

You describe a goal in your own words and the Coach builds the plan around your week. I am the first person training on one. It moves up this page when it is real.

  2. Routes from your session

Your session says 5 km. Zweck draws four routes of about that distance from where you are standing, each with its climb, and you pick one. It only asks where you are if you turn Record my routes on.

    Still being refined
  3. Mistakes cost nothing

Delete a race by accident and you have an hour to take it back. Undo works everywhere else in the app too.

  4. Heart rate, run by run and station by station

Average and peak for every run and every station, read from your Apple Watch. It is off until you switch it on, and we checked the numbers against Apple Health's own.

An example race. Times are illustrative.
  5. The race on your wrist, with your phone in step

Eight runs, eight stations and the roxzones between them. Start on your phone, race on your watch, pause or go back on either, and both screens stay on the same station.

A real race, walked in real time.
  6. Build a session your way

Put a session together movement by movement, or ask Zweck to suggest one. It sets the order and tells you roughly how long it will take.

Zweck screenshot: a built session of three movements, about 20 minutes.
  7. On iPhone, through TestFlight

Zweck runs as an iPhone app with an Apple Watch app beside it, through Apple's TestFlight. It has had dozens of builds since.

  8. Log a session set by set

It shows what you did last time and offers it again with one tap. It keeps working when the gym has no signal.

Zweck screenshot: logging back squat, set 2, offering 100 kg by 5 again.
  9. A name and a mark

Zweck is German for purpose. The mark is four weeks of training. The third one dips, because one always does.
