What Zweck can do today, dated as it lands. If it is on this page, it works on a real phone. If it is still coming, it says so.

  1. Plans that change with your week

Tell it what happened, in your own words, and it reshapes the weeks ahead and tells you what it moved and why. It ships when it works. Not before.

  2. How Zweck decides your training

We're publishing the reasoning behind your plan: what the research says, where it runs out, and what we decided and why. Every source named. The first paper, on how your week is mixed, is nearly ready.

  3. A new look

Every screen has been rebuilt. Same Zweck, easier to read and use in the middle of a session, when you're tired and your hands are busy.

  4. Save a route, run it again

Like a route you ran? Save it, give it a name, and run it again whenever you want. Saved routes are yours alone, and you can remove one any time with Delete this route.

  5. Warm up, then cool down

Sessions now start with a warm-up built for the work ahead, and finish with a stretching routine. No need to remember either one: they're part of the session.

  6. Your plan, written for you

Say your goal in a sentence, and the Coach writes a plan around your weeks: phases, a lighter deload week placed where your block needs one, and the sessions for your first phase. The later phases are named; their sessions are not written yet. Occasionally a plan doesn't come out right; when that happens, Zweck says so plainly and gives you a ready-made block instead of pretending.

  7. Heart rate on every run

With Record heart rate on, each run keeps your average and peak heart rate, read from Apple Health. Nothing second by second. Off until you switch it on.

  8. Your run, your line

Turn on Record my routes and your run keeps its line on the map, for you only. Turn it off and nothing about where you went is kept: you still get distance, pace and splits.

  9. Doubles and mixed doubles, on your wrist

Choose your division on your Apple Watch, including Doubles and Mixed Doubles, Open or Pro, and the station weights follow. Each race remembers the division it was run at.

  10. Your data, your call

Delete a run and its route with Delete this run. Clear your heart-rate numbers with Delete my heart-rate numbers, without touching anything else. Two buttons, and they do exactly what they say.

  11. Tell it where your kit is

Tell Zweck what you have at your gym and what you have at home, separately. Sessions are built from what's in front of you on the day.

  12. Finishing a session

When you finish, Zweck shows you what you did: every movement, every set, how long it took. Then it's saved, and your plan moves on.

  13. Routes from your session

Your session says 5 km. Zweck draws four routes of about that distance from where you are standing, each with its climb, and you pick one. It only asks where you are to plan a route if you turn Record my routes on.

  14. Mistakes cost nothing

Delete a race by accident and you have an hour to take it back. Undo works everywhere else in the app too.

  15. Heart rate, run by run and station by station

Average and peak for every run and every station, read from your Apple Watch. It is off until you switch it on, and we checked the numbers against Apple Health's own.

  16. The race on your wrist, with your phone in step

Eight runs, eight stations and the roxzones between them. Start on your phone, race on your watch, pause or go back on either, and both screens stay on the same station.

A real race, walked in real time.
  17. Build a session your way

Put a session together movement by movement, or ask Zweck to suggest one. It sets the order and tells you roughly how long it will take.

  18. On iPhone, through TestFlight

Zweck runs as an iPhone app with an Apple Watch app beside it, through Apple's TestFlight. It has had dozens of builds since.

  19. Log a session set by set

It shows what you did last time and offers it again with one tap. It keeps working when the gym has no signal.

  20. A name and a mark

Zweck is German for purpose. The mark is four weeks of training. The third one dips, because one always does.
